TRANSCRIPT SYSTEM (AARTS)
CORRECTING YOUR AARTS TRANSCRIPT
Active Duty, Guard
& Reserves without an Undergraduate Degree
If you are an Active Duty, Guard or Reserve Soldier and
your Army/ American Council on Education Registry
Transcript System (AARTS) record is missing course
information, you must contact the respective training school
to update your ATRRS records to reflect course completion.
If an update is required within 30 days, we recommend that in addition you
should visit
American Council on Education
(ACE) Guide to Learning Experiences
to locate credit recommendations for the courses/MOS
shown on your ATRRS/other verification documents. You
can complete a
DD Form 295 using the
information shown on the ACE Guide. Do not contact ACE directly, but fill out the DD Form 295.
If your rank is wrong, you should
submit your current ATRRS record, copies of your
promotion orders, and other verification documents
to
your school. The AARTS Operations Center is a
transcription center and end user. The AARTS staff
cannot complete such personnel actions.
Active Duty, Guard & Reserves with an
Undergraduate Degree
If you have already completed your baccalaureate degree,
you should submit your current AARTS transcript, along
with a completed
DD Form 295 using the
information shown on your ATRRS/other certified
documents, directly to your school so that they may
award you credits based on the recommendations outlined
in the
ACE Guide to
Learning Experiences.
Veterans with an AARTS Account
If you are a Veteran, and you
do have an AARTS record in
our system; you should submit the most current copy of
your AARTS, a copy of your certified DD Form 214,
Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Service,
along with a completed
DD Form 295 directly to
your school.
Veterans without an AARTS Account
If you are a Veteran, and you
do not have an AARTS
record in our system, and if your Basic Active Service
Date (BASD) is before 1 October 1981; you should submit
your certified DD Form 214, Certificate of Release or
Discharge from Active Service, along with a completed
DD
Form 295 directly to your school so that they may award
you credits based on the recommendations outlined in the
ACE Guide to Learning
Experiences.
The AARTS is not a depository for every
course a Soldier ever takes! The following will not be
added to your AARTS:
Types of information NOT included on your transcript:

Awards (medals)
- Courses: Local training taken at
the garrison/company/unit level or Army
Education Center (i.e., motor pool
training; Microsoft (MS) computer
classes; unit armorer classes;
Leadership Education And Development
(LEAD) training); FEMA courses; Army
Correspondence Courses that are less
than 45 hours in length and have not
been evaluated by ACE; civilian courses
(any course taken at or through a
civilian college even if paid for by the
Army); courses taken while a member of
another military service (Air Force,
Navy, Marine Corps, etc.)
Types of information included on your transcript:

Courses: AIT, PLDC, BNCOC, ANCOC, any
MOS-, SQI- or ASI-producing courses; all
formal resident army schools; Army
Correspondence Courses that are more
than 45 hours in length and have been
evaluated by ACE; training
courses conducted at the various army
training facilities throughout the US — i.e., Academy
of Health Sciences at Ft. Sam Houston;
the MP School at Ft. McClellan, or Ft.
Leonard Wood. Training courses are also
conducted in some foreign countries.
- MOSs: Any
MOS that you served in an unofficial
capacity or held while a member of
another military service (Air Force,
Navy, Marine Corps, etc.)
