U.S. Department of Education Announces $442 Million in Teacher Incentive Fund Grants; 62 Winners from 27 States

Today, U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan announced the sixty-two winning applicants of the Teacher Incentive Fund (TIF) grant competition. The winning applicants represent rural and urban school districts as well non-profit groups and state education organizations from 27 states across the country.

Alaska to Receive $23.5 Million to Support Education Jobs

"There is a huge sense of urgency to get these funds out the door," said Duncan. "These education dollars will help Alaska keep thousands of teachers in the classroom working with our students this school year."

Eight States to Receive Funds to Support Education Jobs

Arizona, Guam, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Utah to Receive Funds to Support Education Jobs

U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan today announced that Arizona will receive $211.8 million, Guam will receive $20 million, New Hampshire will receive $40.9 million, North Carolina will receive $298 million, Pennsylvania will receive $387.8 million, and Utah will receive $101 million to support education jobs.

Florida, Hawaii, Missouri, Ohio, Puerto Rico, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands to Receive Funds to Support Education Jobs

U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan today announced that Florida will receive $554.8 million, Hawaii will receive $39 million, Missouri will receive $189.7 million, Ohio will receive $361 million, Puerto Rico will receive $129 million, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands will receive $8 million to support education jobs.

Indiana, Minnesota, Oklahoma, and Rhode Island to Receive Funds to Support Education Jobs

U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan today announced that Indiana will receive $207 million, Minnesota will receive $166.7 million, Oklahoma will receive $119 million, and Rhode Island will receive $33 million to support education jobs.

Alabama, Iowa, Maine, Massachusetts, Nebraska, and Tennessee Will Receive Funds to Support Education Jobs

U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan today announced that Alabama will receive $149.5 million, Iowa will receive $96.5 million, Maine will receive $39 million, Massachusetts will receive $204 million, Nebraska will receive $58.9 million, and Tennessee will receive $195.9 million to support education jobs.

Colorado, Connecticut, New Mexico, and Wisconsin Will Receive Funds to Support Education Jobs

U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan today announced that Colorado will receive $159.5 million, Connecticut will receive $110.5 million, New Mexico will receive $64.9 million, and Wisconsin will receive $179.7 million to support education jobs.

New York, Georgia, and American Samoa Will Receive Funds to Support Education Jobs

U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan today announced that New York will receive $607.6 million, Georgia will receive $322.3 million, and American Samoa will receive $8,324,352 to support education jobs.
