2011-09 A new consolidated training list has been created and is now available on the Training and Certifications page here. This training list aligns the available trainings to the Four Key Steps in the Hiring Process, the ten DoD hiring steps, and to each of the products in the Hiring Manager's Toolkit. The document also provides listings of training for general hiring and skills improvement. This document is suitable for Hiring Managers, HR Professionals, and Executives. 2011-09 The third series of InfoNet campaign videos have launched on our YouTube channel! Each of the four videos in this set highlight one of the four documents in our Hiring Manager's Toolkit, which is completely free and available for you to download here. This campaign covers Interview Tips, the Hiring Manager's Checklist, Onboarding, and Reference checking, all of which can be viewed on our YouTube channel here.
2011-08 A set of Assessment Strategy presentations provided by OPM are now available for the HR Professional. These presentation explain what assessments are, how they can be useful for your organization, and how to implement them successfully. The presentations can be found in the Human Resource Professional section of the navigation, or you can go directly to the page here.
2011-07 We have begun our second Hiring Reform video campaign on the InfoNet screens within the Pentagon. There are five videos in total that promote the Four Key Steps in the Hiring Process. The videos can all be viewed through our YouTube channel here.
2011-06 OPM and Partnership for Public Service are sponsoring an Effective Hiring Workshop in Washington, DC on Tuesday, July 12, 2011, from 1:00pm-4:00pm ET, on "Subject Matter Experts to the Rescue". Click here for more details.
2011-05 Mr. Pat Tamburrino, DASD(CPP) met with Donna Miles, Senior Writer for American Forces Press Services on 3 May 2011 to discuss the history, progress, and challenges of the Hiring Reform Initiative within the Department of Defense. On 18 May 2011 Ms. Miles published an article through DoD’s news outlets on DoD Hiring Reform efforts. The article focused on the Department’s efforts to improve the experience applicants have when applying for employment within the DoD and new resources available to current DoD employees to help them with the new process, efforts to reduce the time it takes to hire applicants into service, and on the need to balance this timeliness with recruiting top talent. 2011-05 The USAJOBSRecruit website is now online. USAJOBSRecruit is an online Federal community of practice where Federal human resources practitioners, hiring managers, and Federal employees involved with recruiting can connect to share expertise, discuss recruiting challenges, learn from each other and create Federal recruiting solutions together. The website hosts a wealth of information regarding topics such as planning for recruiting, employer branding, recruiting strategies, marketing & outreach, and recruiting effectiveness. 2011-04 The Communications and Outreach section of the Hiring Reform website has been expanded. This section now contains a wealth of outreach materials which have been separated into four categories: Hotspots, One Minute Updates, Webinars, and Other Outreach Tools. The Communication and Outreach section can be found in the navigation to the left, or you may reach the section here.
2011-04 The Onboarding Key Activities Matrix, Onboarding Guide, and Guide to Workforce Planning have been added to the Hiring Manager's Toolkit. This completes the suite of documents, which are now available to you in an updated page, which can be found here. Many of the larger documents have also been converted to text only version for economy printing, and each document has been labeled with the file size to help you better estimate the time you will need to download your document. The Hiring Manager's Toolkit link in the navigation to the left has also been moved for easier accessibility.
2011-02 The Talent Requirements page now has a number of additional flexibilities listed for use, which can be found here.
A Hiring Reform PSA Hot Spot video has been created and will be aired on the Pentagon Channel as well as American Network Channels Extra, Prime, Movie and Sports. The video can be viewed on the Communications and Outreach page here.
