STUDENT EDUCATIONAL EMPLOYMENT
PROGRAM (SEEP)

Students

The Student Educational Employment Program (SEEP) gives degree-seeking students an opportunity to experience federal employment while still in school. SEEP offers a valuable work experience in a flexible environment, alongside the incredibly bright people that make up NAVAIR. There are two programs within SEEP – the Student Temporary Employment Program (STEP) and the Student Career Experience Program (SCEP). More information is provided on each, so you can figure out which one might be right for you.

To be eligible for SEEP, you must be:

  • A student enrolled or accepted for enrollment as a degree-seeking student (diploma, certificate, etc.).
  • At least the minimum age required by federal, state or local laws and standards governing the employment of minors.
  • Taking at least a half-time academic or vocational and technical course load in an accredited high school, technical or vocational school, two- or four-year college or university, graduate or professional school.
  • A U.S. citizen or national (resident of American Samoa or Swains Island). Non-citizens may be eligible for employment if:
    • Permitted by a federal agency’s appropriation act, and
    • Eligible to work under U.S. immigration laws. U.S. citizenship is required for conversion to permanent employee under the SCEP component.
