Soldiers referred to IDES will immediately contact the ACAP center at their installation to schedule and complete their transition training. Soldiers without an ACAP center will call 800-325-4715 or visit www.acap.army.milr to complete their transition training.

Immediately complete:

• Preseparation counseling DD Form 2648 or DD Form 2648-1.
• Individualized Counseling (IC).
• Register for ebenefits at (www.ebenfits.va.gov).
• Register for MyHealtheVet at (www.myhealth.va.gov).
• Begin your Individualized Transition Plan (ITP).

Complete between 10 months and 3 months prior to anticipated transition date:

• Transition overview
• Military Family Concerns
• Financial Planning
• Value of a Mentor/Special Issues
• MOS Crosswalk
• Department of Labor Employment Workshop (3 days)
• Veterans Administration Benefits briefing (No later than 6 months).
• Veterans Administration Benefits sign-up (No later than 6 months).
• Register for Department of Labor online (www.careeronestop.org).
• Complete resume of choice (No later than 5 months)
