The Elevation Derivatives for National Applications (EDNA) database was completed by a consortium:
- U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Earth Resources Observation and Science (EROS) Center
- USGS National Mapping Division (now the National Geospatial Program)
- USGS Water Resources Division (now the USGS Water Resources of the United States (WRD))
- National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) National Severe Storms Laboratory (NSSL)
- U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)

Application
Topographic data serve as input to the Landscape (.LCP) file which is used in models to predict wildland fire behavior and effects.
