The City of Freeport is where the historic Brazos River meets the Texas Gulf Coast. Freeport is approximately 50 miles south of Houston and is known for our moderate climate and tropical beauty. We are home to the Shrimp Capital of the World. We are among the worlds largest chemical complex. We are adjacent to a deep-water port facility. We have an average temperature range of 42-92, an average rainfall of 52.3 inches/year. We are proud to be the home of a statewide-recognized boat and marina facility, Bridge Harbor Yacht Club.
