instructional resources, and technology applications graduation

The Technology Applications Unit provides direction and leadership
for the Technology Applications curriculum, grades Prekindergarten-12.
Technology Applications includes the teaching, learning, and
integration of digital technology knowledge and skills across
the curriculum, especially in the foundation areas, to support
learning and promote student achievement. The Technology Applications
curriculum defines the technology
literacy and integration requirements for students
and teachers specified in No
Child Left Behind, Title II, Part D and addresses
the recommendations in the Texas
Long-Range Plan for Technology 2006-2020. The Technology
Applications Unit provides communication with the field about
current issues pertaining to Technology Applications and policy
interpretations related to Curriculum
Requirements and Graduation
Requirements in 19 TAC Chapter 74.
Unit staff assists districts statewide with implementation of
the Technology Applications Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills
(TEKS); works with other TEA Curriculum staff to support the
use of technology in all areas; assists the Instructional Materials and Educational Technology Division
in overseeing the K-12
Technology Applications instructional materials;
works with certification staff on Technology
Applications educator standards, certification, and teaching
assignments; and oversees the Technology
Applications Teacher Network as
a part of No Child Left Behind, Title II, Part D Technical Assistance.
