The Community Renewal Initiative is important to distressed urban and rural areas nationwide in large part due to the financial and partnering support it has received from multiple federal agencies, including HUD, USDA, HHS, Treasury, the Department of Labor, Justice, and others. These agencies, as well as for-profit and non-profit partners, have teamed to help rebuild the Renewal Communities and Empowerment Zones and other distressed communities throughout the country. Financial and technical resources available to the RCs and EZs, including successful applications of EZ applicants, which can be useful resources to other communities, are available in the links provided below.
