As part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (Recovery Act) (H.R. 1, S. 1 - PDF-1MB), NIH has received $10 billion to be used in Fiscal Years 2009 and 2010, $100-200 million of which is designated for a new initiative called the NIH Challenge Grants in Health and Science Research. |

Students at U.S. medical, osteopathic, dental & nursing schools who completed basic science courses & 1 year of clinical clerkship, students in doctoral public health programs who completed coursework & passed qualifying exams prior to beginning of fellowship.
