CG Journal: Sentinel Class Patrol Boat Protest
October 15, 2008 - On September 26th, the Coast Guard awarded a contract to Bollinger Shipyards, Inc. for the detailed design and construction of the first Sentinel Class patrol boat, with options for up to 34 vessels. On October 7th, Marinette Marine Corporation filed a protest with the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) challenging the source selection decision that led to award of this contract. As required by the Competition in Contract Act, the contracting officer stopped work on the contract.

October 2008 - WASHINGTON—In a major step forward for fleet modernization and in-house acquisition capabilities, the Coast Guard on Sept. 26 awarded Bollinger Shipyards, Inc. an $88 million contract for the detailed design and construction of the first Sentinel-class Fast Response Cutter.

Coast Guard Announces Award for Fast Response Cutter
September 26, 2008 - WASHINGTON DC - The Commandant, Admiral Thad W. Allen, and Coast Guard senior leaders hosted a media round table to announce the award for the design and construction of the Fast Response Cutter (FRC) - Sentinel Class patrol boat to Bollinger Shipyards, Inc., an $88 million contract.   The event was held Monday, September 29 at 11:00 a.m. at Coast Guard Headquarters, 2100 2nd St. SW, Room 2610, in Washington DC 20593.

Coast Guard Reassigns Deepwater Replacement Patrol Boat Acquisition Project
March 14, 2007 - Adm. Thad Allen, commandant of the Coast Guard, signed a decision memorandum March 14, 2007, approving the Deepwater program executive officer’s recommendation to terminate the current FRC-B acquisition with ICGS and reassign the acquisition to the Coast Guard’s Acquisition Directorate.
