BASIC FUNCTION:
Under the general direction of the Director and Deputy Director, assists OPP Program Counsel with the LSC Resource Information (LRI) website which is dedicated to showcasing innovative techniques and noteworthy practices in the legal services community. Develops content for the LRI website, designs and maintains the LRI website, compiles material and drafts the LRI eNews Newsletter and assists in other LSC initiatives, as assigned. Assists programs to improve the delivery of legal services to the eligible population and performs any combination of the listed duties and responsibilities in the Office of Program Performance.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
FWorks independently to develop and write content*, including abstracts, for the LRI website;
Follows up with internal and external abstract approvals by initiating contact with staff and the legal services community;
Takes initiative to solicit content for the LRI website from the legal services community and from LSC staff;
Compiles material and drafts the LRI eNews Newsletter*;
Reviews material and documents for content and appropriateness before it is placed on the LRI website;
Updates and maintains the LRI website;
Solicits information for conferences and workshops and develops appropriate materials;
Converts documents to an electronic format;
Participates in OPP task forces as assigned to provide input and generate content for LRI;
Provides assistance on special projects as assigned by the Deputy Director or Director of OPP;
Performs other duties as assigned.
*Content is subject to the LRI Approval Process for posting information to the website.
COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
General: Makes sound, well-informed and objective decisions; knows LSC's mission, functions and operations; identifies and understands trends that affect LSC, its grantees and their clients; displays high-level of initiative
Technical/Specialized: A Bachelor's degree; plus two (two) or more years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience totaling 6 years. Superior oral and writing skills; word processing proficiency; experience with web design and/or development; knowledge of server-side scripting language (e.g. ASP or PHP) desirable.
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
Salary dependent upon qualifications and experience, plus an excellent benefits package.
