04/07/09 - Illinois EPA posts plans and lists of eligible projects for federal stimulus funds on web site
Springfield—Illinois EPA Director Doug Scott has announced that the draft Intended Use Plans (IUP) for federal stimulus funds, as submitted to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, have been posted on the Agency’s web site at: www.epa.state.il.us for public review and comment. The IUPs include state funding lists of eligible entities that have applied to the Agency seeking financial assistance to fund waste water and drinking water projects under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). The IUPs serve as planning documents for the Agency and explain the activities that are anticipated for ARRA funding.

Green Lanes and New Interchanges on the Illinois Tollway Will Reduce Congestion, Connect Communities and Drive Economy
Following acceptance of a plan to provide congestion-relief, improve the environment and enhance mobility across Northern Illinois, Governor Rod R. Blagojevich today commended the Illinois Tollway Board of Directors for adopting a new $1.8 Billion Capital Plan, which includes the implementation of an Interchange Improvement Program and development of a Green Lanes Plan. The plan adopted today will play a significant role in reducing congestion, cutting down on emissions and investing in Illinois jobs.
10/30/08 - Governor Blagojevich Announces Nearly $6 Million in Federal Funds to Improve Public Transportation in Downstate Illinois
Grants will provide needed funding for new buses and facilities
In an effort to improve public transportation services in downstate Illinois, Governor Rod R. Blagojevich today announced a total of $5.88 million in federal grants to 16 downstate transit agencies and local governments. The funding will go towards the purchase of new buses and the construction of new facilities to make local public transportation more safe and reliable.
