05/07/09 - Governor Quinn and Illinois EPA work with key legislators to strengthen environmental Right to Know law
Crestwood drinking water issue prompts proposed expansion of public notification law
Springfield, IL – In response to growing public concern that some information about the Crestwood public water supply was not provided to its consumers, Governor Quinn and the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency have been working with Attorney General Lisa Madigan to strengthen the existing the public right to know law. The changes, included in House Bill 4021, would increase both responsibility and accountability of a public water supply to notify water customers of water quality issues that could have potential health concerns.

05/06/09 - Governor Pat Quinn Signs Wind Power Purchase Agreement with the City of Springfield
State will use environmentally friendly energy source to power buildings in the capital city
SPRINGFIELD – May 6, 2009. Governor Pat Quinn signed an agreement between the Illinois Department of Central Management Services (CMS) and the city of Springfield to purchase wind power to be used by state facilities in the capital city.

05/06/09 - Governor Quinn Announces more than $21 million for Parks and Open Space
Fifty-nine projects will enhance park development and reserve open space through OSLAD program
SPRINGFIELD – May 6, 2009. At the Illinois Association of Park Districts Legislative Conference in Springfield, Governor Pat Quinn announced $21.2 million in grants for 59 park development and land acquisition projects throughout Illinois.
