Our Mission

Hawk flying over the prairieThe mission of the Coastal Prairie Ecology Research (CPER) Team at the USGS National Wetlands Research Center is to provide scientific information that may aid in the conservation, management, and restoration of natural ecosystems in the greater coastal prairie region.

In order to achieve this mission, the CPER Team (1) conducts research on a variety of problems associated with habitat conservation, (2) disseminates its results and findings to as broad an audience as possible, and (3) seeks to facilitate the exchange of information among interested parties.
