Ecology and Management

Prairie PictureGrasslands around the world have been among the most heavily impacted ecological systems because of their high value for farming, grazing, and other agricultural practices. In order to restore and rehabilitate ecological systems, basic information about the native communities, ecological processes, and indigenous fauna is needed. Among the grasslands of North America, the coastal prairie has received comparatively little study. As a result, current restoration and management efforts are hampered by a shortage of basic information.
