Center for Environmental Innovation - Affiliate of Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies - CEI is an alliance of university faculty members that focuses on innovative environmental, health and safety (EH&S) issues and opportunities requiring a multidisciplinary approach where trust among multiple stakeholders is a key component. They believe that contentious EH&S issues can best be managed credibly for all stakeholders through collaborative university research.
Innovations in American Government Awards - Launched by the Ford Foundation and the John F. Kennedy School of Government in 1986, Innovations in American Government recognizes and promotes excellence and creativity in the public sector. Through its annual awards competition, Innovations in American Government draws attention to exemplary achievements in government problem solving, amplifies the voices of public innovators in communicating their practices, and serves as a catalyst for transforming creative and effective ideas into widely established best practices.

Aspen Institute - The Aspen Institute is a global forum for leveraging the power of leaders to improve the human condition.
CERES - Provides an innovative forum for corporations, activists and socially responsible investors to have honest, meaningful dialogue on corporations' environmental and social practices.
The Council for Excellence in Government Innovations in American Government Award - Identifies and celebrates outstanding examples of creative problem-solving in the public sector.
The Council for State Governments
- Center for Environmental Innovation - Builds upon a two-year effort to identify the most promising new approaches to environmental innovation.
- Innovation Awards - Showcase and share states' best programs and policies. All state officials may nominate programs from which eight winners are selected nationally by state leaders. Winners of the prestigious Innovations Awards receive national recognition for their programs through CSG's Annual Meeting and in the general press.
ELI - ELI is an independent, active, nonprofit center conducting policy studies on the environment and sustainability and reaching out with environmental programs, publications, and technical assistance across the U.S. and abroad.
Global Environmental Management Initiative (GEMI) - Develops strategies to help businesses improve EHS excellence, economic success, and corporate citizenship.
Greenbiz - Works to harness the power of technology to bring environmental information, resources, and tools to the mainstream business community.
Multi-State Working Group - The MSWG promotes improving the nation's environment through better performance and enhanced sustainability. Established in 1996 as an informal affiliation of state regulators and busineses focused on studying environmental management systems, the MSWG has members and affiliates across the U.S. and around the world.
The National Academy of Public Administration - An independent, non-partisan organization chartered by Congress to assist federal, state, and local governments in improving their effectiveness, efficiency, and accountability.
The National Library on the Environment - A universal, timely, and easy-to-use single-point entry to environmental information and data for the use of all participants in the enviornmental enterprise.
Resources for the Future - An independent institute dedicated to analyzing environmental, energy, and natural resource topics to enable policy-makers to make sound decisions.
State and Local Government Innovative Regulatory Activities - Originally created by Congress in 1991 as the Critical Technologies Institute and renamed in 1998, the Science and Technology Policy Institute is a federally funded research and development center sponsored by the National Science Foundation and managed by RAND. The institute's mission is to help improve public policy by conducting objective, independent research and analysis on policy issues that involve science and technology.
StEPP Foundation - The StEPP Foundation's primary mission is to increase the number of energy efficiency, renewable energy and pollution prevention projects implemented for the benefit of the public.
Stewardship Partners - Exists to promote locally developed environmental solutions and to link these efforts with public and private funding sources.
State, Tribal, Local, and Other Federal
Association of State and Interstate Water Pollution Control Administrators (ASIPWCA) - ASIWPCA is an independent, nonpartisan organization of State and Interstate water program managers. ASIWPCA Members represent the State and Interstate professionals who, on a daily basis, implement surface and groundwater quality management programs
Association of State and Territorial Waste Management Officials (ASTSWMO) - The Association's mission is briefly stated: "To Enhance and Promote Effective State and Territorial Waste Management Programs, and Affect National Waste Management Policies".
The Council of State Governments (CSG) - CSG serves elected and appointed officials throughout state government and offers opportunities for states, territories and commonwealths to network, collaborate and form problem-solving partnerships. CSG's impressive array of national and regional services and programs helps state officials govern better and smarter.
The Environmental Council of the States (ECOS) - ECOS works to connecting states with each other, and with federal partners and others, to help share experiences about how to best manage the environment.
The Forum on State and Tribal Toxic Action (FOSTTA) - FOSTTA is a partnership between the USEPA’s Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics (OPPT), and state and tribal leaders to increase understanding and improve collaboration on toxics and pollution prevention issues among the states, tribes and EPA.

Point Reyes National Seashore - An example of an on the ground innovative experiment in sustainability, the Point Reyes National Seashore was selected as a Center for Environmental Innovation by the National Park Service (NPS) Headquarters in Washington, DC.
US Department of Energy - Sustainable Communities Network - This site offers a menu of information and services on how communities can adopt sustainable development as a strategy for well-being.
