Climate change is a global challenge that requires international solutions and cooperation among countries. The EPA believes that information sharing is a vital part of developing solutions at the international level. The Agency provides information and expertise to other countries to assist in their efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and conserve the ozone layer. In particular, information is offered on renewable energy, energy efficiency, transportation, agriculture and forestry. Through the U.S. Initiative on Joint Implementation, organizations in the United States and other countries have been encouraged to implement projects that reduce, avoid, or sequester greenhouse gas emissions.
