Current Application Process

  • 1.  Read about verification online at http://www.vetbiz.gov/vip/verify.htm.

  • 2.  Click the links and read the pages entitled “Acknowledgement and Requirements for Ownership” and "Acknowledgement and Requirements for Control".

  • 3.  Read the page entitled “Attention New and Returning Businesses".

    4.  Click on the link entitled “Click Here to Open VA Form 0877".

    5.  Follow the instructions on the form, complete the form and FAX it to CVE at 202-303-3330.

    6.  CVE sends email upon receipt of your VA Form 0877.

    7.  CVE has 21 business days to verify.

    8.  Once verified, CVE sends email indicating your business is a verified VOSB or SDVOSB.

    9.  CVE sends letter and lapel pin identifying your business as a verified VOSB or verified SDVOSB.

  • Checking Status
  • 1. Note the date of CVE’s receipt
  • 2. Allow 21 business days to process
  • 3. Send email to VACVE with subject as “Request Status Update,” with your business name added to subject line

  • Locate or register a veteran owned business
  • The Vendor Information Pages Database is the only Federally controlled database in which a legal verification process is used to determine service disabled or veteran status of a small business. All companies participating in the Veterans First program under PL 109-461 are required to submit evidence of ownership / control and veteran status before being awarded a VA contract under the set-aside authority.
