Career Development

The Federal Housing Finance Board is committed to developing a versatile and well-trained workforce that meets the changing needs of our future.  Through training and development, we envision a professional and administrative workforce whose skills and capabilities are "best in class". A workforce that continues to develop and learn, in an environment of continuous learning, provides the agency greater efficiency and effectiveness in accomplishing its mission.

To ensure we achieve the above objective employees are encouraged to participate in job-related training that will:

  1. Help achieve the Finance Board’s mission and performance goals by improving organizational performance.
  2. Improve individual and organizational performance through such activities as:
      • formal (classroom) training (college courses, forums, seminars, workshops);
         self-study (self-paced learning, independent reading);
      • technology-based training (computer-based training, satellite instruction);
      • workplace programs (task forces, mentoring, long-term development, on-the-job training, details, rotational assignments); and
      • conferences (but only when the content contributes to the improvement of individual or organizational performance).
