Green 146B 2, 3.1-3.5 cm long, 1.8-2.2 cm wide, new terminal shoots reddish
green; panicles 3 cm long, 11 cm wide, fls. mid-June, average 30 fls. per infl.,
3 sm diam., white (White 155D 2) to very faint pink, claw pink (Red Purple
60C 2); high powdery mildew resistance; hardy zone 7, may be killed to ground
zone 6. Orig. in 1963 by Victor M. Watts, Fayetteville , Arkansas ; intro.
in 1973 by A.E. Einert, Fayetteville , Arkansas . Name registered May 17, 1973.

semi-dwarf, multiple-stemmed shrub 2.3 m high and 3 m wide in 12 years; lvs.
elliptic to obovate, 4.5-5.5 cm long, 2.5-3.5 cm wide, young leaves slightly
pink overcast (Greyed Red 182B 2), later dark green (Yellow Green 147A above
and Yellow Green 147B beneath), turning bright orange red (Red 43A) to dark
red (Red 46A) in autumn; panicles 10-14 cm long, 7-18 cm wide; fls. medium
pink (Red Purple 66C), prolonged flowering; mildew resistance; orig. in 1972 from a cross of (L. indica PINK
LACE x L. fauriei) X L. indica ALBA NANA; selected
in 1975; intro. in 1986 by U.S. National Arboretum; NA 52711, PI 499816. Name
registered May 1, 1992.
HOUSTON

59. 1997):A seedling from the popular WORLD’S FAIR variety.
It has a full symmetrical habit and grows to about 24 inches. Watermelon-red
fls. Originated by David Chopin, now of Washington, PA.
