If you visit our site to read or download information, such as House committee jurisdictions or press releases, we collect and store only the following information:

  • The name of the domain from which you access the Internet (for example, aol.com, if you are connecting from an America Online account).

This information is used for Site Management purposes. This government computer system uses software programs to create summary statistics using this information. These statistics are used for such purposes as assessing the number of visitors to the different sections of our site, what information is of most and least interest, determining technical design specifications, and identifying system performance or problem areas.

CBC Blog Comments Policy

All postings received by the CBC Blog are considered intended for publication. Those individuals wishing to contact the CBC should email the pertinent staff member directly or the general the CBC email (congressionalblackcaucus@mail.house.gov).

Comments must be under 250 words (approximately three paragraphs). Comments submitted above 250 words may be edited for length or deleted. Generally speaking, comments submitted for posting on the the CBC Blog will appear exactly as submitted, though the the CBC Blog reserves the right to edit posted comments for content, clarity, and length.

All points of view are welcome on the CBC Blog, provided they are respectful and professional. Abusive, inappropriate, or vulgar language, and personal attacks are prohibited and will result in the deletion of the comment and the banning of the poster. Further, all comments must be policy related and pertinent to the subject of the original post or subsequent comments. URL's within the body of the comment must be in html format and appropriate to the subject matter or they will be deleted. All comments must abide by Congressional rules and ethics.
