La marihuana es una planta que generalmente se fuma como
cigarrillo. Entre sus nombres más comunes en español se encuentran "mota",
"mafu", "juana", "juanita" y "hierba". Los cigarrillos de marihuana se conocen
como "cartuchos", "churros" o "yoints". En inglés, con frecuencia se la conoce
como "primo", "weed", "herb", "smoke", "dope" y "grass" y los cigarrillos se
conocen como "joints" o "blunts".
Los muchachos fuman marihuana para sentirse bien o menos tímidos.

La marihuana puede:
- Interferir con la capacidad para recordar información nueva.
- Entorpecer los reflejos, lo que puede afectar el desempeño en
los deportes y otras actividades físicas favoritas.
- Causar depresión y nerviosismo o la sensación de que algo malo
va a pasar.
- Causar problemas similares a los de fumar tabaco, como la bronquitis
y las infecciones pulmonares.
