Kennedy
Space Center is celebrating its 40th year as America's premier gateway
to the stars. On July 1, 1962, it was designated the Launch Operations
Center, beginning four decades of a remarkable evolution that continues
today. Launch facilities have risen from the landscape; manned and unmanned
spacecraft have sent hundreds of people and satellites into Earth orbit
and beyond. Please join us as we look back on a history rich with accomplishments. |
