- Draft Interim Guidance: Medical Screening for Workers Potentially Exposed to Engineered Nanoparticles
NIOSH is seeking public comment on a draft document: Interim Guidance on Medical Screening of Workers Potentially Exposed to Engineered Nanoparticles, through February 15, 2008. A public meeting will be held on January 30, 2008, at the Robert A. Taft Laboratory in Cincinnati, Ohio, as a forum for scientists and representatives of government agencies, industry, labor, and other stakeholders to discuss the document. The meeting will be open to the public, limited only by space available.

This workshop focused on policy and planning issues (as opposed to scientific issues) that are key to understanding the options available to NIOSH in formulating and implementing its strategic objectives to protect the safety and health of workers exposed to nanoscale materials.
- International Conference on Nanotechnology: Occupational and Environmental Health & Safety
December 4-7, 2006 Cincinnati, OH
This conference is centered on the impact of Nanotechnology on occupational and environmental health and safety from two perspectives: (1) promotion and protection of individual safety and health along the life cycle of nano-based products and (2) use of emerging technology in prevention and detection/treatment of occupational and environmental diseases.

The American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) held a day-long seminar on May 13, 2006, on issues relating to the control of potential workplace exposures in processes where nanomaterials are produced or used.

- First International Symposium on Nanotechnology and Occupational Health
