April 25, 1997: Mary Lou Lindholm, a resident of Owings, Maryland, received the Presidential Rank Award for Distinguished Service during a White House ceremony on April 10. Mrs. Lindholm was one of 63 Senior Executive Service members who received the Distinguished Service Award for 1996. [News Release]

April 24, 1997: Public service remains an occupation that continues to attract many outstanding people. That truth will be dramatically underscored next Tuesday, April 29, when as many as 531 finalists for the Presidential Management Intern (PMI) Program meet with representatives of more than 60 federal agencies at the Department of Labors Great Hall. April 11, 1997: U.S. Office of Personnel Management Director Jim King today announced the assignment of a Voting Rights Examiner to the State of Texas for a special run-off election to be held April 12, 1997, in Bexar Countys District 28. [News Release]

April 10, 1997: President Bill Clinton this morning honored 63 members of the federal government's Senior Executive Service with a Presidential Rank Award for Distinguished Service. The annual award recognizes government's top executives for their valuable contributions in leading vital federal programs. [News Release]

April 7, 1997: Since March 30, 1994, when President Clinton signed the Workforce Restructuring Act, which authorized the use of monetary incentives to federal employees who volunteered to retire, resign, or take voluntary early retirement, the federal workforce has shrunk to a size it has not been in over 30 years. This finding is contained in a report to Congress from the Office of Personnel Management detailing buyout activity in Executive agencies. [News Release]

April 1, 1997: President Clintons National Partnership Council (NPC) convenes in Oklahoma City on April 9 at the Federal Aviation Administrations (FAA) Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center to investigate how partnerships respond to crises, and learn about the FAAs labor-management partnership initiatives.
