Researching Solutions for Increasing
Communications Resiliency
The NCS regularly conducts service and technology
evaluations and research to identify technologies and service offerings
that can increase communications resiliency.
- Service Offering Evaluations: The NCS partners
with a service provider to evaluate a service provider technology.
- Technology Evaluations: The NCS partners with
a technology vendor and a Federal, state, or local agency to evaluate
a stand-alone communications technology (e.g., FSO, SATCOM) at
the agency site.
- Technology White Papers: The NCS prepares research
papers on prevalent and emerging communications technologies and
their applicability to disaster or event recovery and restoration.
Completed Evaluations and Research

Partnership Opportunities
A partnership with the NCS to evaluate a technology
or a service offering benefits both parties. The NCS gains valuable
insight into a new or emerging technology or service which it can
share with other Federal, state, and local agencies. The other party
gains valuable insight into Federal, state, and local agencies needs
and feedback on the service offering or technology.
