Maintain Communications with
a Route Diverse and Resilient Local Access Network
The National Communications System (NCS) welcomes
you to the Route Diversity Project homepage. The Route Diversity
Project seeks to help local, state, and Federal agencies in increasing
the resiliency of their local access networks. By improving resiliency,
a local, state, or Federal agency can increase the probability that
communications are always available.
The project includes:
- Tools and Capabilities: Assist an entity
in increasing network resiliency through risk and infrastructure
analysis
- Technology Research: Present information
on communications technologies and services, including those evaluated
by the NCS during "real-world" field trials
- Resiliency Guide: Outlines ten key steps in
increasing route diversity and resiliency in the local access
network
- NCS Priority Services: Links to information
on NCS communications priority service and restoration programs,
including Wireless Priority Service (WPS), Government Emergency
Telecommunications Service (GETS), and Telecommunications Service
Priority (TSP)
The Route Diversity Project is continually seeking
to add new material to the site that will help users with their
communications networks. If you have any suggestions or ideas
for content that should be included, please contact
routediversity@dhs.gov.
