Faith-Based and Community Initiatives have become key tools in the governing strategy for States and countless communities across the nation as a pragmatic way to address some of society’s toughest human services needs. State- and city-led strategies have included efforts to strengthen the network of government and nonprofit organizations to improve the welfare of citizens, build the capacity of faith-based and community-based organizations, and address specific challenges.

State Summaries
All across the country, innovative agencies are reorienting in the way that States and communities seek to address human services needs—from Colorado’s Division of Child Welfare Services to Florida’s Department of Correction to Missouri’s Department of Labor and Industrial Relations to Connecticut’s Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services.

City Summaries
Increasingly, local communities are recognizing the FBCI as a valuable strategy for solving real-world problems.
