Funding
Agricultural Education
The American
Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture is a 501 (c) (3) charitable
organization created in 1967. Tax-deductible contributions to
the AFB Foundation for Agriculture earmarked for agricultural
education will be used to convey accurate messages about agriculture
to teachers, students and consumers.
A special
fundraising effort is now underway for a mini-grant program to
support creative Ag in the Classroom projects at the state and
county levels. To generate funding for the mini-grants, the Foundation
is offering the first in a series of collectibles -- a vintage
red and white '67 Chevy pickup for $39.95 (including shipping
and handling). This custom-made limited edition Chevy pickup
features the Foundation for Agriculture logo on the door panels.
The statement, "Educating the public about our food and
fiber system through programs such as Agriculture in the Classroom"
is imprinted on the truckbed tonneau cover. In addition to being
an attractive addition to a desk or shelf, the 1/25th scale model
truck serves as a bank when the tonneau cover is pulled back
to uncover a coin slot.
For tax
purposes, $16.00 of the truck purchase may be considered a charitable
contribution to the American Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture.
