Description

Based on Clinical Center and selected Institute needs, the Clinical Center is developing
a Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics Service (CEBS). The CEBS is designed primarily to address unmet needs of CC investigators; however, Institute partners who have unmet needs in this area will participate. Services to be offered include:

  • study design
  • data collection advice
  • computerized data management
  • data entry
  • biostatistical analysis
  • data presentation

Accomplishments-to-Date

  • Needs assessment conducted in the Clinical Center
  • Issue discussed in detail at annual Clinical Center/Institute planning meetings to identify Institutes with unmet needs
  • Planning meeting convened with interested Institute and CC staff
  • Proposal developed delineating scope of CEBS and resources required (FTE, space, equipment)

FY2000 Goals

  • Hire Chief, Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics Service
  • Hire core staff
  • Identify and secure adequate space and resources
  • Implement service
