1969 Conference on Food, Nutrition, and Health
The 1969 White House Conference brought public attention
to the importance of nutrition in the life and well-being of the
nation. Several landmark policy efforts with profound and lasting
effects emerged from this conference, including expansions of the
food stamp program, food labeling, and the school lunch program.
