Center for Rural Affairs Hires Two New Rural Advocates

Larsen will be working on health care, rural development, and farm issues. Before coming to the Center Steph lived in Washington, DC for three years, directing the policy program at the Community Food Security Coalition.

"I'm thrilled to be back in the Midwest, and hope to get people excited about participating in our democracy," Larsen said.

Fritz will be working closely with communities to assist them with development needs. Stephanie has a degree in education and has vast experience working in rural communities. She has taught at a rural school near Bassett, NE and then had a career as a communication consultant in rural Nebraska. Most recently she was a social service worker in northern Nebraska.
 
"I'm excited about this opportunity.  In the short time I have been with the Center for Rural Affairs, I have had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people and learn many new things about rural Nebraska.  The first lesson I learned as a community developer is the value of learning more about the communities we travel through when getting from Point A to Point B.  There are adventures to be had and history to be learned from the rural communities that are all around us" said Stephanie Fritz.
