Choose Your Cover Ready-to-Use Graphics

Thanks for visiting CDC's special Web page for broadcast meteorologists and others who communicate about sun protection. We're glad you're interested in supporting our efforts to let Americans know how to protect their skin from the sun's harmful UV rays.

On this page, you can—

  • Copy the individual "Choose Your Cover" icons in multi-platform JPEG or TIFF format. (Icons depict various sun protection options.)
  • Download a compressed ZIP file containing the five "Choose Your Cover" icons in multi-platform JPEG or TIFF format.
  • Copy or download the "Choose Your Cover" logo.
  • Copy or download the "Choose Your Cover" warning label.

Below, you will find ZIP archives of sample graphic treatments for the five skin protection choices. These graphics are built ready for broadcast video.

Chose Your Cover: Sample graphic treatments. Umbrella - Seek Shade from UV rays, especially during midday.  Shirt - Cover Up to protect exposed skin. Hat - Get a Hat with a  wide brim.  Shades: Grab Shades that block both UVA and  UVB rays.  Sunscreen - Rub on Sunscreen - at least SPF 15 or higher and both UVA and UVB protection.

Microsoft® Windows®

  1. Click on the link corresponding to the image in the desired format.
    Result: The selected image appears on a new page.


  2. Position your mouse cursor over the image; then right-click.
    Result: A contextual menu appears.


  3. From the contextual menu, select one of the following options.
    - If you are using Internet Explorer, select Save Picture As.
    - If you are Using Netscape Navigator, select Save Image As.


  4. Type the filename and select the directory in which to store it.

Apple® Macintosh®

  1. Click on the link corresponding to the image in the desired format.
    Result: The selected image appears on a new page.


  2. Position your mouse cursor over the image; then click and hold mouse button.
    Result: A contextual menu appears.


  3. From the contextual menu, select Save Image.


  4. Type the filename and select the directory in which to store it.
