The goal of this program is to provide training in basic research on disease mechanisms as they apply to environmental health. Trainees in the program receive a broad foundation in the environmental health sciences and in-depth training in one or more areas of investigative environmental pathology. The program represents the joint and collaborative efforts of faculty in the Departments of Pathology (School of Medicine), Environmental Health (School of Public Health and Community Medicine) and Pharmacology (School of Medicine). The participating faculty are distributed among four research areas:

  • Biotransformation and Oxidative Injury
  • Neuro and Developmental Toxicology
  • Mechanistic Approaches to Risk Assessment
  • Mutagenesis and Molecular Carcinogenesis
