The program applies basic disciplines, including analytical and organic chemistry, biochemistry, molecular and cell biology, physiology, pathology, and epidemiology to the solution of toxicological problems in the human environment and ecosystem. Participating faculty come from departments in the School of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, the Division of Biological Sciences, the School of Medicine, and the School of Veterinary Medicine. Students are selected from a variety of doctoral programs, take a core course in toxicology, and have the opportunity to conduct research in the Center for Environmental Health Sciences and the Superfund Basic Sciences program.
