University of Cincinnati departmental members The Training Program in Molecular Epidemiology in Children’s Environmental Health is interdepartmental and interdisciplinary. Participating training faculty are from three interactive departments: the Departments of Environmental Health, Pediatrics, and Molecular Genetics. The program provides training at three levels: the predoctoral student seeking the Ph.D., the post doctoral trainee with a Ph.D. and the M.D. postdoctoral resident/fellow in pediatrics or obstetrics seeking a M.S. degree in epidemiology. The program focuses on the development of a knowledge base to undertake epidemiological and clinical studies using molecular markers of exposure, effect and susceptibility; and to examine the impact of environmental exposures on complex diseases in children’s health. The program will develop research skills in pediatric epidemiology, biostatistics, molecular biology and toxicology, and genetics.
