A genealogical database which includes some Romanians, primarily in North America. Maintained by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

International Civic Heraldry. Romania (http://www.ngw.nl/int/rom/romania.htm)
Links to images coats of arms for some Romanian regions, provinces, cities, and districts, as well as the national coat of arms.

JewishGen Romania Database (http://www.jewishgen.org/databases/Romania/)
A multiple database search facility incorporating seven databases from Romania and four from Bessarabia. These databases have been contributed by the JewishGen Romania Special Interest Group (ROM-SIG) and individual donors. The combined databases have over 285,000 entries for individuals living in the area that is now Romania and Moldova. The database is a work in progress and new entries are being added regularly.

JewishGen ShtetlSeeker. Town Search (http://www.jewishgen.org/Communities/loctown.htm)
Part of the JewishGen Web site. Search by town using exact spelling or the Daitch-Mokotoff Soundex system. Search will display the latitude and longitude for each location, the distance/direction from the country's capital city, and links to maps. Gazetteer information from the U.S. Board of Geographic Names was used extensively in Where Once We Walked, a book focusing on shtetls in Eastern Europe used in the mapping function of the search.

JewishGen Special Interest Group for Romanian Jewish Genealogy (ROM-SIG) (http://www.jewishgen.org/romsig/)
Countries known today as Romania and Moldova, as well as the southwestern portion of Ukraine and southern Hungary are the areas of focus. Includes the areas formerly known as Bukovina, Moldavia, Bessarabia, Transylvania, Wallachia, and the Banat.

Romania Genealogy Forum (http://genforum.genealogy.com/romania/)
E-mail forum on various genealogical questions related to Romania. Postings for each country-related forum may be easily consulted either through a directory of postings or a search engine. From Genealogy.com.

Provides links to pertinent sites and includes a search engine for surnames. Part of the WorldGenWeb Project, which provides free research guidance from its worldwide network of volunteer genealogists.

Siebenbürger Sachsen (http://www.genealogienetz.de/reg/ESE/7burg.html)
Provides historical background, associations and societies, genealogical and historical records, maps, archives, etc., on Transylvanian Saxons. In English and German. Maintained by Genealogy.net, which focuses on German genealogy worldwide.
