The following are known issues with HEC-GeoRAS for ArcGIS (Jan 06 Release)

Issue #1
Problem:
Storage Area Elevation-Volume Data extraction results in a memory reference error and ArcMap closes.

Reason:
Temporary files are not removed from the following folder and will eventually exceed Windows' maximum file limit for a folder.

C:\Documents and Settings\<Your Username>\Local Settings\Temp

Workaround:
  1. Navigate to the the following folder:
    C:\Documents and Settings\<Your Username>\Local Settings\Temp
  2. Delete the "info" folder and all files and folders that begin with "raster".
Note about Local Settings folder:
Local Settings is a hidden folder in Windows Explorer. To unmask hidden folders, in Windows Explorer, go to "Tools --> Folder Options" then click on the "View" tab. You will see an option similar to the image below.

Issue #2
Problem:
During the Read RAS GIS File process on the RAS Mapping menu results in an
"Access is denied.  -2147024891 msxml4.dll" error.

Reason:
The user does not have modify permission to the RASOutParms.xml file located in the following folder:

C:\Program Files\HEC\HEC-GeoRAS 4.x\bin (if installed into default location)

Workaround:
Change the permissions of the "bin" folder to allow the user named "Everyone", "Modify" privileges. This will allow any user on the computer to modify the appropriate files.

Issue #3
Problem:
Floodplain delineation does not occur for all tributaries in the river system.

Reason:
The bounding polygon feature class is a multipart polygon and will only include the floodplain for the first feature in the polygon during delineation.
Workaround:
Manually edit the bounding polygon to for one, continuous polygon and re-delineate.
