The requirement to submit a Small Customer Plan, in compliance with Western’s Energy Planning and Management Program, was established in Section 114 of the Energy Policy Act of 1992, Public Law 102-486, and published in the Code of Federal Regulations at 10 CFR part 905.
Western’s IRP requirements for a Small Customer Plan ask for the following information:
Small Customer Plan
- Name, address, phone number, contact person and email
- Names of Western firm power customers included in the plan
- Type of customer—(Municipal, co-op, irrigation district, end-user, etc.)
- Period of time covered by the plan
- Past five years of kWh sales and other load/user information
Action plan for the next five years based on the Small Customer Plan
This plan outlines opportunities to meet future requirements and utility efficiency goals using DSM techniques, system improvements, new renewable resources and other services. It should contain:
- List and description of activities, projected kW, kWh, dollars savings and annual program costs
- Description of efforts to minimize adverse environmental effects
Western requires an annual update to track your progress. An Excel reporting spreadsheet to assist reporting is available on the Energy Services Web site.
