Patent Technology Monitoring Division Products The Patent Technology Monitoring Division (PTMD) studies statistical information relating to patents and prepares reports in a variety of formats. This program also administers the TAF database, which contains selected bibliographic data pertaining to U. S. patents granted since 1963. See PTMD Products and Services at http://www.uspto.gov/web/offices/ac/ido/oeip/taf/brochure.htm The PTMD On-Line Brochure describes the various statistical reports, publications, studies, and customized reports prepared from the Technology Assessment and Forecast (TAF) database. These products survey U.S. patent activity in specific areas of technology; illustrate the patent activity of large corporations; and assemble, analyze, and provide meaningful data about the patent file. To request a print publication of the PTMD Brochure, call 571-272-5600. PTMD Research Publications present statistical information relating to patents in a broad range of technical fields. PTMD Statistical Reports prepared from the TAF database, contain counts of patents in broad categories, e.g., utility patents, design patents, and independent inventor patents. Unless otherwise noted, they are updated twice a year and are provided free of charge. Additional statistical reports are available at the USPTO General Statistics Web page under the Patent Technology Monitoring Division. PTMD Technology Reports provide detailed patent profiles for specific subject areas. The date of the most recent report available is indicated in parentheses. The listed reports are similar in format to the All Technologies Report and represent only a few of the many technology reports that are available. Call 571-272-5600 for availability and information on reports in other technology areas. Data from the TAF database can be customized in a variety of ways and presented in several report formats to suit diverse purposes. Production of customized reports is subject to the availability of staff resources. Custom reports are available on paper and electronic media. The price of each report varies. For information, call 571-272-5600. |
