Great Apes

Male Silverback Gorilla

Great apes throughout West and Central Africa, and in Southeast Asia–including gorillas, chimpanzees, bonobos, orangutans, and gibbons–are being hunted for food, and facing the rapid loss of habitat. In order to help save these species, the U.S. Congress passed the Great Ape Conservation Act.
