U.S. Hepatitis Research Programs

bulletDivision of Digestive Diseases and Nutrition, National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases
(DDN, NIDDK) Manages intramural and extramural programs in basic and clinical research related to digestive disorders, including liver and biliary diseases.
bulletDivision of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases
(NIH DMID) Conducts and sponsors intramural and extramural research to control and prevent diseases caused by infectious agents, including viral hepatitis. DMID supports four Hepatitis C Cooperative Research Centers (HC CRC), that conduct studies aimed at the prevention and treatment of hepatitis C virus.
