Viewing and Printing Web Pages

Section 508

Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1998 requires Federal agencies to make their electronic and information technology accessible to people with disabilities. Agencies must give disabled employees and members of the public access to this technology that is comparable to the access available to others. The Office of Government Ethics (OGE) is committed to making our web site accessible to as many people as possible, including those who may be physically challenged. OGE has made every effort to bring our web site into compliance with Section 508 to the extent possible at this time. We will continue with these efforts as new solutions become available.

Adjusting the Underlining in Links

You have the capability to decide whether or not you want to have the links in web pages underlined if you use either the Internet Explorer or Netscape web browsers. While some people find the underlining a distraction and others find it very helpful. The steps are outlined below for each browser.

Internet Explorer: Go to Tools, Internet Options, Advanced tab, Underline Links. Here you can choose the way you want to have links underlined - always, when hovering, or never.

Netscape: Go to Edit, Preferences, Appearance, Fonts, Colors. In the Colors section you can check/uncheck the box for underlining links.
