Welcome to the Duplin County Vanguard Location for the National Children's Study

Duplin County is a close-knit, rural community of slightly more than 50,000 residents. The National Children’s Study will recruit almost half of the county’s pregnant women and their children over the next five years. Duplin residents are excited about their selection as a “Vanguard Community” and proud to contribute to the health and well-being of children through participation as one of the first two sites in the nation to start the Study in early 2009.

Reflections on the NCS

Millie Brown, Director of Duplin County Department of Social Services, shared a touching reflection and prayer at the Community Advisory Group meeting in September 2008, on the positive impact of the National Children’s Study on Duplin County’s children.
