Parking at the Clinical Center

We strive to make parking for our patients and their visitors as streamlined as possible. The addition of valet parking is one improvement

If you’d prefer to use the valet parking service for patients and visitors, drive to the Clinical Center’s new main entrance on Center Drive (see map). Valet parking is available Monday through Friday, 7 am -10 pm (excluding federal holidays). When you arrive, have your valet claim ticket validated at the Hospitality desk.

If you choose to self-park, go to the Patient Parking garage (P1), which is on the west end of the building off Convent Drive. Parking attendants will be available to assist you. You’ll enter the new hospital through a new lobby on the lower (B1) level. Stop by the Hospitality desk to validate your parking ticket. The South Elevators serve the parking garages.

A campus shuttle is available for you in the event you need to go around the campus to another building, the Metro, or the Children's Inn.

Our local transportation system is called 'Metro' and includes an extensive bus system (Metrobus) as well as a rail system (Metrorail) around the area. Metrorail and Metrobus maps, stations and fare information are available on the Metro site.

If you want door to door driving directions you can go to Mapquest and type in your address as the start point and fill in National Institute of Health, 9000 Rockville Pike, Bethesda, MD, 20892-0002 as the end point.

To offer the most secure and safe environment for our patients and visitors, extra security is in place. Therefore, vehicles are inspected and two IDs are required for drivers. Please allow extra time for these measures. Further information can be found on our security site.
