New Users

For individual users who have never used radioactive materials at the NIH, the minimum requirements for using radioactive material are:

• Registering with DRS for a training course by completing and submitting the online registration form
• Completing and submitting the online dosimeter evaluation form

Former users of radioactive materials returning to the NIH after more than four years must:

• Register with DRS for a training course by completing and submitting the online registration form
• Complete and submit the online dosimeter evaluation form

Former users of radioactive materials returning to the NIH after less than four years cannot work with radioactive materials until they have:

• Notified DRS to be reactivated
• Provided DRS with current work information including authorized user, lab location and phone number
• Completed and submitted the online dosimeter evaluation form

Note: No new training is required before you can work with radioactive materials.
