ED, First Book, and Random House Children's Books Launch 2008 Back to School Book Donation (September 30, 2008)

Deputy Secretary Simon visits a class at Jennie Moore Elementary School in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, where he participated in the launch of the 2008 Back to School Book Donation. First Book Senior Vice President Lynda Lancaster, Deputy State Superintendent Mark Bounds, and Charleston County Superintendent Nancy McGinley also visited the class. First Book, Random House Children's Books, and ED are providing 300,000 free books for schools, libraries, and community organizations to promote literacy and supply books to children in need.
