ISIR Analysis Tool

The ISIR Analysis Tool is designed to help schools conduct an in depth analysis of applicant populations in order to help them understand the effectiveness of their own verification procedures in targeting data elements and students most likely to correct applicant information. The purpose of this section is to show you how to access and navigate the Tool, as well as to provide a step-by-step walk-through of the functions.

To proceed to the ISIR Analysis Tool please click here. For more information and training on the ISIR Analysis Tool please visit our Training page or clicking here.

How Do I Access the ISIR Analysis Tool?

1) To access the ISIR Analysis Tool, you first must enroll for FAA Access to CPS Online. Most schools already have financial aid staff enrolled for FAA Access to CPS Online. Staff who are responsible for using the ISIR Analysis Tool must ensure that they are enrolled and have been assigned access to use the ISIR Analysis Tool within FAA Access to CPS Online. For more information, you can access the link on the QA Web site: http://www.ifap.ed.gov/qadocs/Sampling/RevisedInstructionsforFAAAccess.doc

2) Once you are enrolled and receive your PIN, you can access the site. Go to Start, select Programs and then select either Internet Explorer or Netscape.

Enter the following address: (http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/faa/faa.htm).

You are now on the FAA Access to CPS online page. From this page, click the Next button.

You now need to confirm your identity. Respond to the four questions by entering your Social Security Number; the first two letters of your last name; your date of birth in the proper format: mmddyyyy; and your PIN. Click the Submit button.

You should now be on the Welcome to the FAA main menu page. From here, scroll down to the bottom (the second to the last bullet) and select ISIR Analysis Tool.

You should now be on the Destination/Federal School Code Entry Screen. From here, you must enter your Destination Code (this code begins with a TG). Enter your 6 digit Federal School Code. For the school year, you will select either the current or previous award year. Click the Next button. See third screen shot below.

This will take you to the home page of the ISIR Analysis Tool.

Shared Reports Feature of the ISIR Analysis Tool

QA schools can share Custom Reports that are created in the ISIR Analysis Tool. When a school chooses the option to save the Custom Report in the shared reports folder, any QA school will be able to view the report criteria as a template, but NOT the school data in the report.

The following schools currently have shared reports available:

Central Michigan University

Texas A&M

Colorado State University

University of Arizona

Eastern Illinois University

University of California – Santa Cruz

Iowa State University

University of Delaware

Kent State

University of Kansas

University of Rio Grande

Pittsburg State University

University of Texas – Austin

Prairie View A&M

Virginia Commonwealth University

All QA schools will be able to access any shared report by following these easy steps:

You can save any of the reports to your folder and run them using the records in your database.  You can also modify the criteria and re-save them, if you want to make any changes.

Note: Once you have accessed and saved a shared report, you may want to review the report to determine whether it is selecting the population you want to review.  Since it is difficult to determine what the selection criteria is for the report based on the title alone, you should consider reviewing the report immediately after you save it so that you can modify the report, if needed, while it is fresh in your mind.
