Shoreline Management Program

There are two active Shoreline Management Programs within the Willamette Valley Project. They are located at Dexter Lake and Fern Ridge Lake.

As part of the Operational Management Plan for each reservoir, Shoreline Management Plans were developed to, "promote the safe and healthful use of these shorelines by the public while maintaining environmental safeguards," as directed by Engineering Regulation (ER) 1130-2-406. The Shoreline Management Plans for Dexter and Fern Ridge lakes are located on sub-pages that can be accessed using the menu bar on the left.

To learn more about the National Corps of Engineers Shoreline Management Program, you may go to the Natural Resource Management (NRM) Gateway.

The NRM Gateway is an information sharing tool for Corp natural resource managers. At the NRM website, you can learn about Corps policies and regulations related to shoreline management plans and look at examples from other Corps lakes throughout the nation (See "Good Enough to Share.")
